Market of Stars ‘Let the Light In’ Kimono
€148.00
Introducing Let The Light In – Inspired by poet Leonard Cohen’s famous quote “There is a crack in everything, that’s how the light gets in”, this design celebrates the ways our experiences shape us, and the perfect beauty of imperfection. Created using several pieces of Delft tile from the 1700’s — including two elaborate Italianate landscape scenes.
The two patterns found in the trim come from an 1867 British book on classical ornamentation, and an earthenware plaque from the Netherlands painted in 1780. The ginger jar on the sleeve is a 1700’s French watercolour painting.
